These ThinkPad's are built like tanks, and it's rare to get the X230's with the i5 processor - a worthwhile upgrade. Most that I see are always with i3. I especially like that they are MILC (military) tested for pressure, humidity, vibration, temperature, dust, etc. That way I don't have to worry about a simple drop or trying to be super careful whenever I carry the thing - it's going to last regardless of what I do. The Thinkpad brand at Lenovo has always built quality laptops, and I think it's worth it to pay a bit extra for the dependability and build quality. The backlit keyboard on this model is also something very worthwhile.
