Customer Reviews of Lexmark Interpret S405 Home Office Wireless N, 4-in-1 Color Inkjet Printer
Lexmark keeps it simple1/23/2011
My purchase of the Lexmark S405 was initially spawned by my disgust for the HP All-in-one Wi-fi printer I bought less than a year ago. The driver set was bloated and bogged my system BAD. I mean BAD!! I jumped on Buy.com and spotted the Lexmark at a good price and decent reviews and made the decision to buy. It was everything I hoped for. Nice, lean drivers. Unobtrusive. Good functionality and NO drama. Kudos, Lexmark. Go suck an egg, HP!
Print Herad Problem1/6/2011
I've had the the printer for about 2 weeks and it worked great until it stopped. I got an error message stating that there is something wrong with the print heads. So after doing everything described in the users manual to fix it nothing improved. So I called Lexmark. After about 45 minutes on the phone the Lexmark representative came to the same conclusion that the problem can't be fixed. So, he offered replacement print heads and ink crtridges. That was nice of him. So even though the problem is a challenge to me because of all the printing and faxing I do. The solution to replace the broken parts in 2 to 3 days is nice. In all I recommend this printer. Easy set up and the wireless printing works well.
Extremely easy set-up.11/27/2010
It's nice to be able to sit in the living room, watching a game and hitting the print button and having your document print out in the upstairs office. Having a wireless printer makes you wonder how you did without one. And the print quality is great. What I liked the best, however, was how easy the Wi-Fi set-up was. The directions worked as printed and I set-up the printer pretty fast.
I wasn't sure about getting any printer since there are so many things to consider. One was ink. I love that you can buy all 4 different cartridges. That'll be a lot cheaper in the long run. This ink is not very expensive either. I have not used it very much since I bought it because I do very little printing but I did want something that I wouldn't have to replace in a year. I will do another a review on this printer in about a year. The printing and copying are great. Have not printed photos yet. The scanning function works perfect. Oh, and VERY easy set up. Once you set up the wireless everything else prompts you on the printer display. Very nice.
I bought this printer and I am very glad that I di10/27/2009
I bought this wireless printer about 2 months ago to replace a wired (USB) printer because of the price (got a great deal on Buy.com). This is my first wireless printer and I am very happy that I decided to go wireless (I will never go back to a 'wired' printer). The setup for this printer is very easy. The initial printer setup has to be done while the printer is connected via a USB cable to a PC to configure the wireless and other settings. The setup doesn't take too long to complete (maybe 20 minutes). Once the initial setup is complete all of your other wireless capable PCs (desktops and laptops) can simply install the software from the disk (which will let you 'discover' the printer on the wireless network) and immediately begin printing to the printer. So far, we've printed, scanned and made copies using this printer. My wife is still in college and she prints a lot of documents from her laptop. We've yet to need to fax something but all of the other features work as you would expect. One feature that I like on this printer is that is will automatically enter a 'sleep' mode if it hasn't been used for a while. Even in 'sleep' mode it will automatically 'wake' when you send something to it to be printed. While I think its too early to tell, my wife says this printer uses less ink than our previous wired ink jet printer. But she uses it most of the time.
