Customer Reviews of Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 Wireless Color Inkjet Printer
Horrible Customer Service12/1/2012
Printer works great but the quality of the parts is not the best. After about 10 lifts of the lid the plastic hinge broke. When i called support they only replace the entire printer and ONLY if I had registered the product when i purchased it. Seems like if i have receipt that should be honored. I will never buy a Lexmark product again because of this.
SO much better than the HP's I've been using. Does it all and communicates easily with every workstation on the network. Copies are clean and clear and the automatic sheet feeder makes it very convenient.
This is a fabulouse printer. I got it for $149 and is the 2nd one I bought.. I like it that much and referred it to a friend who has now bought two of them as well. And is always calling me telling me how they are that I turned them on to this printer... so it's not just me! I have had my 1st one for over a year with no issues and I use it everyday and then some. You will constantly be blown away at all the features this printer has. It is too smart for words! LOL And best of all ink is cheap... especially the black ink and those little cartridges go along way. And to have a 5 year warranty out of the box.. how do you beat that? Don't have to buy an extended warranty. I can't say enough but if you buyit I hope you're as happy with yours as I am with both of mine! Hope this review helps.
SO FAR SO GOOD!11/29/2011
I bought this printer to replace a Lexmark x7100 that I worked to death. I am a fan of Lexmark and have had them for years. I am not tech savvy at all, but by simply following the installation instructions, I was up and running in no time. The printer is quiet and fast. The economical setting using only the black ink is exactly what I need in most of my printing. I am looking forward to the savings in color ink cartridges. With a home based business, I need a work horse printer/copier/scanner and I am keeping my fingers crossed that this printer will be as good an investment as my previous Lexmark was. So far, so good.
Have extra printheads7/26/2011
When it works it does the job efficiently and effectively. I'm waiting for my new one from Lexmark, who after replaced the printhead 4 times finally agreed to replace it. On a high note their support is excellent. The printer has been a big disappointment because of reliability.
I bought this printer for my daughter to use for college. It only works for about 2 weeks each time before she has to call service. it has had several print heads replaced and has endless communication errors with the computer. I am pretty computer savy and the errors are always with the printer software, or printer hardware. Lexmarks support is good always sending the replacement part quickly, but enough is enough.
Good low cost printer3/29/2011
Like many others I had tried the Kodak (print quality sucks) and HP (big ink rip-off) and this was my first Lexmark. It was very easy to set up, both USB and wireless. It is great now that I only need to maintain one printer to serve both my desktops and my laptop. The wireless feature also allowed me to get rid of the flaky USB hub I was using to connect my laptop. The print colors are much more accurate than my old Kodak and just as good as the HP at probably one fourth the cost. I'm still using the original ink cartridges after a year and have just ordered two replacement black cartridges for less than $10. The printer is reasonably fast, especially in draft mode. Here are some minor issues I've encountered: 1. As others have stated, the printer occasionally doesn't wake on a print command and I have to power-cycle. Hopefully that will be corrected with a future firmware update. 2. Although the paper tray holds several hundred sheets of paper, I've found that if I fill it more than half full it sometimes wrinkles the corner of the paper as it prints - not always and it could be the brand of paper I'm using - Staples. 3. Biggest issue for me is the noise. As it prepares for printing, the printer is noisy and seems to waste a lot of time with print head alignment and loading paper, etc. Once it begins to print it does quieten somewhat and the next pages are faser. If I print multiple documents, each time it prints the first page it does the same noisy internal movements. I have a small portable laser Samsung that is 10 times faster and almost silent. Unfortunately, it isn't wireless or color, so I put up with the noise. For the price, I would highly recommend this printer despite the minor problems.
Tried HP, Kodak and now Lexmark...2/13/2011
Just bought the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901. My Kodak ESP 7 died after a short 2 year run. Prior to that I had an HP wireless printer. I must say that the Lexmark has a very easy setup that just worked. The others, not so much. In fact, I have had many many problems with Kodak network driver. Printer is very fast, I am impressed compared with the ESP 7 which was slow...HP model should not be compared as it was years ago. ESP has a better paper handling system, but I am still impressed with the Pinnacle Pro901. You only get one paper tray but not a big effort to switch out plain paper for 4X6 photo paper when you need to. Copies are very fast and the document feeder seems to work very well. Highly recommended based on owning for 1 day and really first impressions.
Love the touch-screen control panel. WiFi printing was pretty easy to set up. Separate ink cartridge for each color should help save money on ink. Only complaint is that the CD shipped with the printer couldn't install the drivers successfully. Ended up having to download the install file from Lexmark's web site.
Brilliant multifunction for home or small office u1/9/2011
****I have owned a Lexmark Pro805 for over 6 months and have had great service from that machine, so I did not have any hesitation about getting this bigger machine for my parents even though they have no need for FAX. (Actually, the Lexmark software supports Faxing from the Pro805 if your computer has a connected modem.)**** This machine has features very similar to the large Xerox Workcenters I have used at work at about 4% of the cost. The black ink is the least expensive I have seen by far and the print quality is very good. I do not get through a full ream of paper on one cartridge, but get though several hundred sheets, anyway.**** The Smartsolutions feature is a really fun and unexpected bonus - Lexmark has made customizable soft buttons available to handle your most common tasks. There are more advanced functions available also. I set up one button to get my local weather from an RSS feed, so I can walk by the printer and press a couple buttons to get the weather without needing to turn on my computer. The calculator app could also be useful to some people. There is more available than I want to describe fully here.**** The only problem I had with the printer was that the web-based printer automatic firmware update process did not run perfectly for me - I had to download the firmware upgrade program and run it instead. The update seems to fix a problem with waking up the printer from sleep mode when it is connected via wireless.**** Don't expect this to be a stellar photo printer. It does a good job at a low cost, but is a little limited with only four ink colors available.**** This machine is a real bargain. If you are in the need for a small office/home 0ffice color business multifunction for well under $200, buy this.
I use this printer in a small business and it really hit the spot. Quick easy setup, cheap black ink (I disabled color function) and wireless for $150.00!
excelent AIO printer, so far the best I ever had.12/29/2010
previously I had HP and Brother all in one printers, but there was always some short falls on speed or print quality etc. I switch to lexmark with the wirelss 7565 pro and it was really good even though after a few months duplex printing started failing. I got the prevail 205 and I like it, the wirless was very easy to set up and very responsive I upgraded to this one because of the cheap ink and so Far I love it, set up was very quick and easy and I am printing and scaning wireless, very fast and quiet and the display is just awesome. I got it at a super deal at buy.com for $155 at this price I had no hesitation evan at 200 still a great value ( remember the black ink XL is only $5 ) which is huge when deciding what to buy. I strongly recomend this printer. specially if you can find it below 200 then is a no brainer.
Best Decision in Printer buying history12/17/2010
Very Easy to install, the printer tells u the instructions, wireless setup is a CAKEWALK. I luv it, i can use it from anywhere in my home. Print quality is good, speed is good. Am utilizing printing on both sides which saves me paper. I can scan to email, which is wonderful, i dont hvae to save it to my comp and then email, and lot of other loaded features. I work at home, so the $5-510pages is the best i could ask for. I got this for $155, which is pretty good price for the loaded features it has. And yes, Free Shipping- I got this the Next day. Fedex Ground is fast.
Real printer that never lets you down!12/12/2010
I have always been a loyal believer in Lexmark products. In my job I print almost a full package of paper daily,I print out a tremendous volume of spreadsheets, emails, reports, and forms on a daily basis. I have used Lexmark products for several years now and I know that I can always depend on Lexmark for developing real printers that are like workhorses that never let me down. My last Lexmark printer lasted six years, and it was used 6 days a week and 12 hours a day. The reason I decided to purchase the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901 Wireless was mainly the really low price of their ink cartridges where the black cartridge is only $4.99. Since we had to cut back on some costs at my office it only made sense to purchase another Lexmark Printer that used less expensive ink. The output of my color spreadsheets are outstanding, clear and sharp output and the wireless feature is also a real bonus. My co-workers like to borrow it instead of using the main company computer that takes up so much room and does not even come close to producing the great results thatI get from my Pinnacle Pro 901. I needed a printer that could continually produce numerous and excellent results on a regular basis; one that I could count on. Lexmark makes that type of product; I would recommend this printer to anyone who depends on their printer for consistent and superior results for all of their printing needs.
Great Printer, but Windows 7 set up a pain10/5/2010
As stated by so many others, this unit is incredible. Cost of Black & White prints is 3.3 cents each, color, WiFi, control board, all top notch. Only problem was setup, I was on the phone with Lexmart hot line for an hour. He had to take control of my laptop & PC to get the Wondows 7 to communicate. But now all is well & Lexmark service could not have been nicer or more dedicated to solving the issues, JMG
Great printer for an unbeatable price!9/18/2010
I've never written a review for anything before, but I'm so impressed with this printer that I want to recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality all-in-one with lots of great features! It was easy to set up and is easy to use. The print quality is great, and best of all - the black XL replacement cartridges are only $5!!! We are a small family who uses it primarily for school and home projects, but it seems to me that this would work well for a small home business, also. (There is an automatic feed and an optional 2nd paper tray.) You don't see many deals like this around. I recommend you grab it, if this fits your needs.
