Good Deal with Support Issues9/15/2010
I bought the NAS without hard disks. Put in 4 of my hold harddisks and it worked like a charm. The configuration interfaces is easy to use. That doesn't mean it is perfect. I haven't been able to figure out a couple of things: * I cannot create directories called ".svn". That's completely random, because I can create directories called ".sv" or ".svnn". Unfortunately, I need these directories for backup purposes. * Copying data does not keep the original file permissions around as the NAS overlays its own permissions; not sure this has to be the case? So my backups will have some problems. * I don't seem to be able to use rsync for backups from my Linux machine. There is other stuff I haven't figured out yet like how to use the Blu Ray R/W for playing DVDs, but that may just be me. The support issue is that I used LG's support website to inquire about the problems mentioned above about a week ago and haven't heard back from them yet.
