| Heinrich receives a letter from a severely ill friend asking if he might have a "green burial" at Heinrich''s hunting camp, and the acclaimed biologist/author sets out to explore exactly how the animal world deals with the death-to-life cycle and what can be learned from that process. |
Author Bio
Bernd Heinrich
Bernd Heinrich began his career as a cell biologist, but was interested in the natural world--primarily birds--since he was a boy: he likes "being close to nature and solving puzzles." His many books include BUMBLEBEE ECONOMICS and THE MIND OF THE RAVEN. A professor of biology at the University of Vermont, Heinrich lives on the 300 acres of Maine wilderness he wrote about in THE TREES IN MY FOREST.
