|The versatile Dual-Band Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge can make a wired Ethernet-enabled device a part of your home’s wireless network. Connect it to a gaming console to get access to your wireless router and the Internet and play multiplayer, online games. And it’s optimized for streaming video, so you can connect it to an Ethernet-enabled HDTV, Blu-ray® Disc player, DVR or set-top box and discover a whole new world of Internet entertainment. You can also convert your wired-Ethernet printer, scanner, camera, storage device, notebook, or desktop so everyone in your family can access these devices wirelessly.
Since the Bridge is based on Dual-Band Wireless-N, it works with any device supporting Wi-Fi standards, and is compatible with Wireless-G, -A, and –B products. You can operate the Bridge in either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz radio bands to avoid interference from competing networks. Or you can push all your bandwidth-intensive activities like video streaming and gaming to the less-crowded 5 GHz radio spectrum for an optimal viewing experience.
The Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge is designed to set up on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. Since there are no drivers to load, setup is a snap – configure the network settings through your computer’s web browser, then plug it into your device and go.
To help protect your data and privacy, all wireless transmissions can be encrypted with industrial-strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and WPA2 security. Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ helps make secure connections pushbutton simple.
Customer Reviews of Linksys WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-Band, Refurbished
The only negative is the single ethernet connection on the back. So if you want to hook up to more than one device you will need a wired router. I used an old "g" D-Link router and it works fine. Just make sure to turn off the wireless of the router you are using as the link to avoid problems.
Pain to setup - but work well once setup11/7/2011
The software setup will not run on windows 7. The software is useless. Connected directly to the Bridge and configured using the web utility - that worked. Setup sucks and is hard to get started. Once setup works well. I am using this to bridge my sling box Solo and it works as well as my old bridge (P330). The Slink box through put is about 4MB/sec and the bridge is on 24/7.
Easy way to expand your wireless network to your n9/20/2010
I bought this to hook up my Panasonic Viera TV, blu-ray player and Tivo to the internet because they were not Wi-fi. After I figured out that the provided cd would not work with Windows 7 I set it up using my windows XP laptop without any problems. I have even moved it around and when plugged back in and it re-connects no problem. The only negative is the single ethernet connection on the back. Cool Wireless Bridge5/24/2010
This product is cool. I had trouble with the power supply and Linksys replaced it. I haven't had any trouble after that.
Excellent Wireless Bridge3/11/2010
Works Flawlessly. Hooked up to Linksys Router with ease. The only ethernet port on back of bridge is hooked up to a 5 port D-Link switch which has Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Media Center PC, Sharp Aquos LED TV, and Brother Network Printer all running simultaneous without network lag. Will try with a NAS shortly. Saved me a ton of money by not purchasing dedicated wireless adapters (i.e Xbox Wireless N, Sharp wireless adapter for HDTV, and print server)!
Good product, discard CD that comes with it1/15/2010
I ordered this product and recieved it 2 days later. Installed CD in drive, clicked setup, then waited. Came back 15 min later still nothing. Restarted comp restarted install same thing. Downloaded from linksys and setup worked like a breeze. Had son play modern warfare 2 online and no lag.
Easy set-up, lots of configuration options, especially QOS to optimize certain types of traffic. Currently using it to network my Blu-Ray player to watch high-def streaming Netflix content over 802.11G perfectly. Haven't tried N mode yet, but I plan to buy a new router soon and see if it makes a difference.
