A little effort, but works great!
Preamble: I am a LinkSys user; I replaced my BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router with the WRT51AB Router and WPC51AB PCMCIA card. Thankfully the two devices have a similar interface and functionality. ( Good job LinkSys! ) Overall, the installation went fine. I had the wired portion of the router working in only 5 minutes, mostly because of my familiarity with the BEFSR41 and I had all the information needed to set up the router parameters. The wireless portion was a little more complicated. I took the simple approach and configured only the 5GHz mode, Turbo Mode enabled, WEP On. I then followed the instructions for installing/configuring the WPC51AB PCMCIA card. Once again, a fairly simple process, if you follow the instructions! The installation process prompted for configuration information ( eg. The WEP Key ) and within 15-20 minutes and a couple of required reboots, the wireless network connection was also working properly... YEAH! Summary: Easy to install, especially if you are familiar with LinkSys products. Read the instructions and follow them. Notes: I am running Windows XP Home Edition on a Compaq Presario Notebook.
