|Developed by Media Molecule, LittleBigPlanet™ is a new PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system community-based game with a hugely innovative concept behind it. Players meet on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots – and use their character’s amazing abilities to play, create and share what they build with other gamers throughout the world via PLAYSTATION®Network.
The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character’s powers to interact physically with the environment. There are places to explore, creative resources to collect and puzzles to solve – all requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As soon as players begin their creative skills will grow and they will soon be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings – the first step to sharing them with the whole community.
Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to view and play. There’s no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learned by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the gameplay experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it’s ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch – or can go and explore everybody else’s.
Customer Reviews of LittleBIGPlanet
Graphics are a real departure from what you are used to seeing, but in a very good way. Textures are sharp and realistic, which is important in a game that draws on mundane objects to make a completely fantastic new world. Movement is rich, physics are well designed. When u play this game, it just feels right.

You can create any level you want from Super Mario to Metal Gear Solid. Anything you want. If you love creating and brainstorming. This is the game you have to get.
Fun with LBP!!3/3/2009
This games is full of cutesie fun and addictive gameplay. It is not a difficult game but it IS fun! This game really shines in multiplayer where you can conquer the world of Little Big Planet alongside your friends and voice-chat with them while playing (headset required). A great addition to your game library for easy, stress-free and tremendous fun!
this game took 12 days to arrive starting on a monday this game was fun for the first week or so. i got tired of playing this after beating the game and playing some games online. the story mode isn't very long and most online games lag because the leader hosts the game. if LBP had their own servers, i would have enjoyed playing this much more. i still pick this out to play everynow and then whenever a friend invites me to play or when i have nothing to do at home
The game is everything i expected and MORE! I bought it and expected to be done with it shortly, but it was adequately challenging and after i had completed it, there was a lot left to do. Anybody can enjoy this game, whether it's just for a quick thrill or whether you want to get in there a created your own levels and compete online for high scores. My roommates who don't usually play video games were able to pick it up, understand the simple objective and have a lot of fun with it.
A Must Buy Game for Online Play12/27/2008
While you can play this game by yourself, you get the most out of playing online. The game will always feel new with all the player created levels out there to download, and playing with friend, or strangers, to solve puzzels is always a good time. Creating your own levels can see very difficult but starting with an easy creation and gradually working your way to a more complex level will help curve that difficulty. Overall this is a great game for any age, but must be played online to take full advantage.
Little Big Planet is one of the best games to come out so far across XBox 360, Wii, or PS3. Don't be fooled by the cute characters or whimsical settings of the game, this game is fun for people of any age, as long as you're capable of grasping the basic controls (X = Jump, R1 = grab). Little Big Planet is especially fun once you join up with other people to play through the various levels, either online or with 3 other people in your living room. Go ahead and look up reviews, even jaded critics rave over this game simply because it's such a refreshing addition to any gamer's library in an age where it seems every other game is about sports or blowing things up.
GREAT for Every age!12/10/2008
I am NOT great at any PS3 game .. not even the old "pac-man" games .. but this game was sooo much fun! Fun with 4 players .. couldn't stop laughing and having a good time while playing this game. you enter other peoples "worlds/games" that they have created and have no idea what to expect! This game is Great for novis and pro players! Always changing... GET THIS GAME!!!
THE killer app for the Playstation 312/10/2008
This game is the reason that pushed me over the edge to buy a Playstation 3. I'm not much of a gamer, and the features of the platform were nice, but after playing this game at a friend's house, I became hooked and bought one on Black Friday. The graphics and physics are outstanding, and you will have a perpetual grin on your face the whole time you are playing. The controller buttons aren't complex like so many other games, so you can pick it up quickly. If you can play Mario Bros back in the day, you can play this game. That's not to say it's a simple game, though! There are plenty of very challenging levels! I love how as long as the Playstation and LittleBIGPlanet networks are alive, there will always be new levels to play and explore. Seriously, for the price of a movie with the family and popcorn and soda, you can have much more fun-so buy this game. :)
So much imagination12/1/2008
LittleBigPlanet is a game meant for the imaginative. The game is fun in its single player, platforming campaign. But the fun escalates with the amount of effort and imagination put into it. Creating stages, sharing stages, et cetera brings the game to a whoel new level. The stage creator is extremely robust, so much so it can take a long time to work anything out. However, with some time spent, true magic can be crafted. If you're looking for a platformer that celebrates and rewards creativity, LBP is the game.
This is by far one of the best games I've played.. I've been playing it since it came out now and can't get enough of it.. There's always something new to do; new levels get created by users, new stickers, new outfits, you get to create your own level and publish it to the public, etc.. Truly awesome experience..
One of the best games I have ever played11/19/2008
I have been playing video games for years now. My first console was the original Playstation. Never before have I played a game like Little Big Planet. This year saw the biggest video game releases coming around the same time. In a crowd of Game of the Year contenders, Little Big Planet truly stands out. This is simply because of its innovation and INFINITE replayability. There is a short story mode in the game where you can learn the basic controls, and get a few pickups, but that is just scratching the surface. After you complete the story mode, there are literally thousands of user created levels to play. If that's not enough, you can create your own levels! This is where LBP shines. I have played some games with custom level creators, but I have never played one so simple to use, yet so advanced. You can make the most complex level that you can think of, and you WONT be held back by a steep learning curve. The only limit is your imagination. I have a friend who owns a PS3 and he said he wont be getting this game because of its "cute" look. He's more into shooters. Do not be deceived by the look. This game has so much to offer to everyone, that it would be a shame to miss out on it for a reason like that.
