I go this bundle on sale for $70 or so, with a $20 mail-in rebate. I've had good experience with Logitech rebates prior, and this product proved no different. First of all, the Unifying nub is one of Logitech's greatest innovations to date. It's essentially a 6-port wireless USB hub, albeit for specific, compatible Logitech devices only. It's great for laptops and netbooks, considering it conserves scarce USB ports, but it's also pretty nice on a tower PC; the nub is something like 1/4" long when plugged in, making it nearly impossible to break by sheer force, so I never have to worry about it when shifting the chassis around and so forth. Even though USB ports are hardly scarce on a tower PC these days, I'll take my savings where I can get them. The keyboard is superb; the keys are very quiet and feel nice to the touch; not only due to the keys themselves, but also because of the wrist cushion. Surprisingly, it's actually not too wide a keyboard for a full layout. I'm very happy with the media keys and shortcut keys, especially considering their customizability. They save time and help some common search-and-click tasks become a simple keypress. The mouse is a bit small (I have large hands), so I use a bigger Unifying Logitech mouse I have instead. Nonetheless, the mouse is relatively comfortable to use and I like the sheer amount of buttons available, which are all customizable with the software. It functions fairly well on a lot of surfaces, including my pants leg. It's a superb "laptop mouse," due to its size, precision, and battery life, and a reasonable desk mouse for most users. Speaking of battery life, I'm not sure about the 3-year promise, but I make pretty heavy use of my computer and I have yet to need to replace the batteries. This is also true of my other Unifying keyboard that has the same guarantee: months without new batteries, or even a poor battery indicator. Needless to say, I'll be more than happy if Logitech can deliver 2 of the 3 years, but all signs so far point to 3 years being a reasonable estimate. All in all, a solid bundle with some quality peripherals. It doesn't compare to Logitech's highest-end products, but at its usual price ($80-$90), it's more than reasonable. On sale with a rebate, it's a sure-buy even if you only really need one of them, as the other is likely a worthwhile upgrade in most cases.
