I never much cared for the series, but the special effects looked so good that I had to see this one. I got exactly what I had expected, cool special effects and some really neat ideas about the technology of the future. Just as in the series, it is beyond me why they put up with the doctor. If it were I, he would have been space garbage 16 hours and 10 min into the mission. I can understand why they kept him around in the series, but it just does not make sense to anyone in today's audience over the age of 8. Then they take a perfectly good robot and make a junky look alike from the series. And another thing, that ship you find while you're lost somewhere in space with little chance of getting home, salvage would be on my mind not destruction. What should have happened with this one is to let go of a third rate television series altogether, and use those great effects to make one great Sci-Fi movie standing on two legs of it's own. The ending suggests a part two, please don't torture us again. Read More

Worthy of the name.

I feel the movie lived up to, and surpassed, the original tv series. The acting was ok, the plot was a little strained, but the special effects were very good. The features on this dvd were a great bonus. Including deleted scenes, some of which were completed, and look great. The movie should be fun for any sci-fi fan. Read More
