Great looking & functional case!3/18/2009
Fantastically low price & fast shipping tops off a great product. My only minor complaint is that the 1TB drive I installed was a little noisy only because I didn't use the included stand that had some vibration dampening foam pads. I'm sure that would significantly reduce the vibration noise but that takes away from the MacPro or G5 Power Mac look. :)
Easy and so cool!1/17/2009
Slapped a 1TB seagate drive into this baby and BANG, off to the races! Took all of five minutes to install the drive into this enclosure. It's cool that it matches my Mac Pro, and I love the blue led activity indicator. This is not the first Macally product I've purchased and it certainly won't be the last!
Multi-Use device - you won't be sorry!11/6/2008
It's pretty much all been said, but something worthy of note is that an enclosure such as this is more than just for a convenient external drive. You can also use it to recover your files if the OS fails beyond repair, and it makes a good backup device. The best part is no cables! You just put the drive into the slide-out "drawer," pushing the data and power connectors into the fixed receptacles and screw the drive to the bottom using the 4 included screws. It’s a very nice case in both construction and appearance, with push-button power on the front, which lights blue when on. SATA works well and without the need to correctly set jumpers, as was necessary with some older IDE arrangements. I’ve only used MacAlly enclosures, and haven’t been disappointed yet.
Best case we've ever used!3/29/2008
So you say you're looking for the perfect external case. Well you've just found it! We've used external cases from every case company on the planet and THIS case is by far the best. Sturdy gauge aluminum, multi-function switch, heavy duty power supply, great electronics, SATA internal, USB 2.0, Firewire and SATA hook-ups in the rear... plus it looks like a Mac Pro. What more could you want? OH yeah, we've saved the best for last... you do NOT need a cable inside of this case! You're hard drive plugs DIRECTLY into the circuit board! Now THAT'S great engineering!
