Customer Reviews of Mad Catz PK02AU Eclipse II Keyboard - USB - 104 Keys
I have used this keyboard for many years and love it. I always order a replacment of the same type due to the good quality. It's the longest lasting board I use and in the long run saves $ . Anyone needing a good, quality board should look at this one.
love the backlighting and palm rest features. kinda pricey for a keyboard but was worth it when i got my hand on it
Love the colors and love everything about it. Looks nice when dark or bright. I really recommend it.
Love the keyboard. Nice feel to the keys and very little noise when they are pressed. When putting the computer into sleep mode the lights on the keyboard do go out. The choice of having 3 colors is great as well as being able to adjust the intensity of the light. Overall I think it is a great keyboard. One of the review categories is "Difficulty" and I gave this a 1 because it is not difficult to use or setup at all. If the category were "Ease of use" I would have given that category a 5.
I love this keyboard, has 3 back lit light choices. Keys are very responsive.
I was ready for an illuminated keyboard and bought this one based on the reviews. I don't know what I can add to what has already been said. I realy like that the illumination is ajustable. A really nice quality fell to the whole thing. What I like best is the feel of the keys! A very nice touch that almost feels like the old click type keyboards, but VERY quiet. I ahven't decided which color I like best. KUDOS to Saitek for a GREAT keyboard!
Good keyboard, some quirks for mac users8/19/2009
I'll get to the meat of my review: Pros: **LOVE the three colors of illumination to choose from. For someone who likes to work after the sun goes down and can't get lighting quite right, this keyboard has solved a great problem. **I had read some reviews saying the keys were like laptop keys...they aren't a thing like my Mac laptop. I like the keys a lot, but if you try and type stealth while talking on the phone, you won't be able to. Since I don't do that, it's not a problem. Overall, I'm loving this keyboard a lot. Cons (nothing unique here, I've seen most of these issues in reviews): **The illumination color doesn't hold on restart. If you like purple, as I do, you'll have to reset it every time you reboot. I think they've fixed that issue in other models. **Mac users: the command and option keys are backwards; you'll need to go into system prefs/keyboard and mouse/change type and pull a switcheroo. Otherwise you'll go crazy. **Often, when I hit the "p" key, I also somehow hit the semi colon and end up typ;ing like that. I've never had that issue on decades of typing and keyboards, so it's got to be something on this keyboard. This is my biggest annoyance, because it requires retyping if I'm typing fast. Overall, I love the keyboard a lot. I'm not sure why I didn't buy an illuminated keyboard long ago. probably because I'd never heard of them. Now I have, and I'll never go without again.
They have this review as if you are reviewing a game...Go figure...Anyway, I can tell you, this keyboard is a must have. The reason that I bought this is the 25.00 credit that I was given on this site, so I decided to try this keyboard. WOW! What a great item. My computer is in our guest beedroom and I always had to turn the overhead light on to see the keyboard...No more...This thing backlights the keys and you have 3 colors to choose from. This is one of those items that you will ask yourself "Why didn't I buy this earlier" Go ahead and get it! You will absolutely love it!!
Saitek Eclipse II keyboard1/21/2009
pretty much awesome, lights are cool. 1 very, very irritating thing: it doesn't remember which color you select, so in my case, because blue and purple actually hurt my eyes, i choose red. however, there is no user memory. other than that, its like a normal keyboard, just lighted.
I bought this keyboard mainly because I am a screenwriter and I usually like to dwell in a darker room. After buying this keyboard, I was plesantly suprised. While the backlight can be a little brighter, the colors are vibrant and bright enough that I don't need to guess in the dark. The keyboard is a little heavier than I thought it would be, but then again it's not like i'm going to be lifting it or anything like that. The keys feel great and are not loud at all. Come to think of it, the keys are quieter than my last keyboard. Very good product and would recomment it to anyone looking for a new keyboard.
Well worth the money!5/8/2008
This is my 3rd Saitek Eclipse. The 1st was the original Eclipse, then I bought this Eclipse II for my wife and she loves it...much better than the Eclipse I. So, when the USB cable on my Eclipse I crapped out on me, rather than doing a straight replacement from Saitek's RMA dept (2 year warranty with proof of purchase), I decided to spend the money and buy myself an Eclipse II. The keys are quiet, and the back light is just right. There's a really cool dimmer on here too so you can personalize not only the color of the back light (red/purple-ish/blue/no light), but you can also set the intensity of the light. My wife changes the color on hers nightly...mine stays on Red. I didn't like the wrist rest on the Eclipse, or this Eclipse II - it's a bit flimsy, but I never use a wrist rest anyway. 2 heights available (flip out legs). Another nice thing about this keyboard compared to others is that there isn't much "extra" around the outside - basically the last key is the edge, which makes a better fitting keyboard onto my pull out keyboard tray so now my mouse and mouse pad fit too. Great keyboard - buy it. Gamers will like it simply for the fact that they'll be able to see the keys in the dark.
Well, this review form states that this product is a game... It is a keyboard. This item has a nice touch and absolutely beautiful appearance. Perfect for the user that just wants an illuminated keyboard, not a specialty gaming keyboard. I would recommend this product.
