Author Bio

Alison Lester

Author and illustrator Alison Lester began her career in children's literature as an illustrator of books by other authors--a career she found less and less fulfilling as she began writing her own stories. She achieved great success with the publication of her first self-written and illustrated picture book, CLIVE EATS ALLIGATORS which was published in 1985. Lester has said that her 1994 picture book MY FARM, which tells the story of a year in the life of an Australian farm, was inspired by her own childhood on a beef farm in Southern Victoria.
