That Gary Busey makes anything watchable is proven yet again with MANEATER, a made-for-TV movie about a town held in the grips of terror. Think JAWS, but replace "shark" with "tiger." In any case, Busey's mysterious alchemy is again at work in his role as a town sheriff: keeping order amid chaos, mending plot holes, and making the ridiculous palpable.
