I bought this item to use it as additional storage capacity for my Xbox 360. It works great!. The system recognized it immediately with no issues. You can purchase similar items already formatted for Xbox for 2 time the price. The system does the formatting for free so why paying for a logo that says Xbox.
This is a great flash drive, capacity is great.. Seems like you lose more "real" storage space the large size you go, but that is expected.
Works on almost any computer PC/MAC/LINUX Just make sure you format it accordingly if it does not show up.
All and all great drive, I do not have time to post speeds, if someone could post benchmark speeds that would be great!
Con: May want to hold out for USB3.0 Flash Drive
I bought a couple of these on sale from buy.com and have been perfectly happy with them. I like that the cap rotates, so I won't lose it, and I have had no problems reading or writing from the device. It's a little smaller than my older ones, also a plus!
I have the 32 GB version, and tested it on XP and Win7 systems. The LOCK software does NOT work with Windows 7 64-bit, but does work with Windows 7 32 bit and XP. The tech support people were pleasant but claimed not to know anything about this and said they would look into it. (Hard to believe that they have no testing data -- the package does say "Windows 7" compatible.)The error has to do with Privileged User settings in Windows 7, which is a different process than other versions, and I could not find a solution.
The drive can be formatted as NTFS and used without the software (but the 32 GB has 1 less GB available than a Sandisk 32 that I use).
Trying to change the size of the secure partition on XP worked, but on Win7-32 did cause a crash of the software and changed the flash to a FAT32 format. You can re-install the drive by putting LOCK back on the FAT32 disk, run LOCKv2.34, put in the wrong password 6 times, and let it reformat it as FAT + secure partition.
This flash drive is small and handy to carry along but large enough capacity for photos, files, most anything you want to store. I take these flash drives along when I travel overseas and keep them handy by my computer at work and home so I can quickly and easily store info, transfer it from one computer to another, and share it with friends. A great value and a convenient tool.
I purchased this Maxell 16 GB USB Drive initially for transfering data from one computer to another. This was exactly what I needed. The price was right and its super easy to use. I shopped around for the best deal and when this deal came up I couldn't resist making the purchase. Delivery of the USB Drive was fairly quick. It has come in handy. Great for travel and stores a good amount of data. I have had this for a little over a month now and I am getting my moneys worth. No problems so far. No complaints. Very happy with my purchase.
Small size and the 360 deg. rotating cap for protection is a good feature. It has a public partition visible for everybody and an invisible one password protected; the software is simple and easy to use.
The rotating cap of the USB 360° by Maxell protects the flash drive while you're not using it. Never again will you need to be worried about losing the cap. The USB 360° has added security with the password protection, so only you can access the files saved on the flash drive. Perfect for any confidential information you need to transfer or share. The plug and play design eliminates any tedious setup or downloading of software. Simply remove the flash drive from its packaging and it's ready to go. The flash drive is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista which means you can use it to store your music, videos, pictures, data, presentations, reports, and for anything you need "on-the-go". The USB 360° flash drive is the ideal companion for school and work projects, file back-up, or simply for everyday use.
