Product Overview

Crash the hottest party of the year! This "bust-a-gut, roll-in-the-aisle" (Maxim) comedy is the one event you can't pass up!

Guided by a set of "wedding crashing rules," John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vince Vaughn) can charm their way into any wedding...and into the hearts of every bridesmaid. But at the biggest nuptials of the year, John breaks the rules and falls for the daughter (Rachel McAdams) of the US Secretary of Treasury (Christopher Walken), and Jeremy is left at the mercy of her "stage-five-clinger" sister (Isla Fisher). Being there for his buddy, Jeremy follows John to the family's huge estate for a weekend that may even be too wild for these professional party guys.

Review "Wedding Crashers" is all runway and no takeoff. It assembles the elements for a laugh-out-loud comedy, but it can't make them fly. There are individual moments that are very funny. But it takes a merciless focus to make a good comedy, and the director, David Dobkin, has too much else on his mind. There are sequences involving Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson where you sense that the actors should have just broken into the cockpit and taken over the controls. There are few lonelier sights than a good comedian being funny in a movie that doesn't know what funny is...There were probably days on the set of "Wedding Crashers" when everyone thought they had a winner. Vaughn and Wilson do dialogue scenes together that achieve a poetry of comic timing and invention. Rachel McAdams is a honey, and Isla Fisher has everything she needs to play a hilarious nymphomaniac, except the dialogue and the opportunity. But how do you misplace Christopher Walken in a movie like this?...You know all those horror stories about a cigar-chomping producer who screens a movie and says they need to lose 15 minutes and shoot a new ending? "Wedding Crashers" needed a producer like that.

Review Like There's Something About Mary, this rude but never mean-spirited buddy comedy starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn is laugh-out-loud funny and surprisingly sweet-natured. Not a film for prudes or politically correct, i.e., humorless, viewers, Wedding Crashers gives the stars free, R-rated rein to show off their crack comic timing as two womanizers working the wedding party circuit. Director David Dobkin (Shanghai Knights) ably guides Wilson and Vaughn through this engaging comedy from sitcom veterans Steve Faber and Bob Fisher (Married with Children). If Wedding Crashers loses a bit of its momentum towards the end, Wilson and Vaughn are so funny together that you're willing to overlook the film's occasional slack pacing and sappy romantic moments...The narrative focus shifts from the duo to Wilson's pursuit of McAdams. As a result, the energy flags and the laughs noticeably diminish...Fortunately, Dobkin and his stars pull it all together to end Wedding Crashers on a high note. In a season dominated by family-friendly films, Wedding Crashers is just the bawdy tonic for anyone seeking a good belly laugh.
