The irresistible Archy McNally returns in a masterful new thriller. The Palm Beach playboy/sleuth has taken on some odd jobs in his day, but nothing compares to his latest: catnapping. What starts as a simple investigation quickly opens a Pandora's box of lust, greed, and murder.
After earning a B.A. from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Lawrence Sanders wrote and edited for a number of magazines including "Mechanix Illustrated" and "Science and Mechanics". His first novel, "The Anderson Tapes", appeared in 1970 and is a compilation of fictional documents and transcripts tracing the electronic surveillance of a shady real estate deal. His best-known protagonist is NYPD Captain Edward "Iron Balls" Delaney, a tough cop featured in a series of police procedurals, including one of Sanders's most popular novels, "The First Deadly Sin".
From the Publisher
Someone catnapped Peaches, Harry and Laverne Willigan's universally hated kitty, from their luxurious Florida estate. In this second Archy McNally adventure the head of "discreet inquiries" for the law firm of McNally & Son must track down the ferocious feline, something he is loathe to do as it once soiled a prized pair of his pink suede shoes.
Encountering his most bizarre case in a catnapping, Palm Beach sleuth Archy McNally finds himself on the trail of murderers, impostors, adulterers, a sensuous psychic, and someone who will do anything to avoid a scandal. Reissue.
