The proven health benefits of meditation include reduced chronic pain, fewer heart problems, and lowered blood pressure. Darma Singh Khalsa elucidates his theory of using meditation and the chakras to maximize the body's healing potential. Khalsa divides this text into three parts: an explanation of medical meditation and research showing the mind/body link; a discussion of the healing elements of medical meditation (variations on Kundalini yoga) such as breath, posture, and mental focus; and instruction on how to use the chakras (specific energy points in the body) to boost the body's natural disease-fighting power.
