Harper Jessup is a bookish young girl who lives with her struggling parents. When they go on the road as "migrants for God", things seem to improve at first, but as time passes, Harper finds herself opposing her parents' mission of censorship: they work to remove "unacceptable" books from school programs around the country. "Convincing and disturbing".--Booklist.

Annotation:
Harper Jessup is the teenaged daughter of "migrant workers for God." Her Christian fundamentalist parents travel across the United States promoting family values and censorship. Harper doesn't agree with her parent's opinions and secretly reads the books that they hope to ban. As her parents become more involved with their cause, and more controlling of Harper, she finds she must make a difficult decision.
