Classic Fable for PC
This game installed on my vista 32-bit with no problems. Windows 7 should not be a problem although I can't be certain. If you hate playing pc games with the keyboard and mouse like I do, I recommend getting a good gamepad (like Xbox 360 for pc) and downloading some keyboard and mouse emulation software. Unfortunately Fable, even though it's a microsoft endorsed game like GTA4 does not, unlike GTA4, have direct support for the Xbox controller. That's probably because this Fable edition came out when XP was still the platform forerunner and Xbox 360 was not around yet. This game is a vivid and fantastic cross between a unique completely non-japanese style RPG (the makers, Lionhead, is a British studio) and a 'sword and sorcery' combat arcade style game in third-person. If you have no contoller issues playing the game, it's quite smooth and fun to get into all the different interactions, leveling-up, treasue-hunting, questing, and combat. Also you will find a lot of unique features (like aging, fishing, unlockable animations, house buying, wife-marrying, and hero-worship) in this game that you will hardly see anywhere else, if at all. The world detail is colorful and beautifully rendered with my Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS card. If you're looking for something more dark and realistic looking like Morrowind or Oblivion, Fable might seem a bit cartoony to you, but that's just part of the overall style of the game and is still very well done. My only minor gripe is that the world ocean/sky extremes are quite bland, though you'll rarely notice it unless you're at the game world edge looking out to sea. Dialogue is generally not the best though the voice-acting helps alot. And the bosses are not hard to defeat once you understand how to make best use of skills and controls. But since you can make different types of characters and play them good, evil, or in between, the game has an excellent replay value and should be a proud edition to any RPG gamer's collection.
