Customer Reviews of Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 700 V2 Keyboard w/ Mouse
I purchased this combo to get rid of the wires on my desk and I have been happy with it. My only complaint is there is no light to indicate that the Caps lock is on. Otherwise both units work well and don't eat the batteries. The mouse goes into a "sleep" mode when idle for a while so that takes a bit of getting used to. Great units and I got them at a great price!
it is good for its price, but not prefect12/15/2010
I brought one for my office use days ago, it is very easy to installation, looks fine. but a day after, the mouse become Every wired, its making a noice on very single click, now it is really sounds like a "mouse" So, i am not expecting this staff will lasting long.
Good Buy for a small price12/12/2010
First of all let me say this I carefully read all the other reviews, and I went ahead and bought the wireless mouse and the keyboard. I m glad I read the other review, however, I do not agree with the other reviews, the keyboard and the mouse work just fine, they are easy to install, and begin working right away. For the price I paid for a quick replacement keyboard and mouse combo, I am very well pleased, and I may just buy another just for back up.
avoid this unit12/8/2010
Set up the wireless keyboard and mouse and it hardly worked. Had to keep resetting it and resetting the receiver to make it communicate. Called Microsoft support. Worked through many attempts at fixing problem, to no avail. They agreed to send me a more recent model since this one is so old.
Mouse just stops working12/8/2010
Everything seems fine at first. A day or two later the mouse just stops responding. Reboot and reconnect to get it working again. A few days later, same thing. Not worth the aggravation. Buy a better version.
Finally, a wireless desktop that works, at a reaso12/5/2010
I received this desk top on November 23rd and immediately installed the included batteries and put it to work on a Windows 7 computer. I didn't use the installation disk as the HP system recognized the system and installed it immediately. All functions, including the volume control, work perfectly for me. I particularly like the compact keyboard and the lack of dangling wires. I don't know what is wrong with the earlier critic's system, but I am pleased with this purchase.
Hope you like buying batteries12/3/2010
After using this combo for a month, the mouse started acting erratically, then barely at all. After replacing the batteries, it was fine. A month after that, the keyboard's batteries were dead. So figure out the cost of 36 AAA batteries and add that to your annual operating costs. The keyboard misses a character on occasion, which is great for people who write for a living (me). On top of that, the 3 system keys at the end of the function key row -- you know, the all important PrtScr/SysRq, ScLk, and Pause/Break -- are for some reason located just above the Home and End keys. I kept hitting them by mistake, so I finally yanked them off the keyboard (oh no, how will I ever program in DOS again??). I figure it's too late to return, so it's sitting in a corner of my home office collecting dust. Maybe I'll pull it out if I ever need something to throw at a burglar.
Don't buy this keyboard11/23/2010
there are absolutely no drivers available for this product. There are literally hundreds of requests on the Internet for anyone who can find XP and Windows 7 drivers for this keyboard and mouse combination. requests to Microsoft have gone unanswered. I do think it would be an okay combo (if there were drivers for it) at this low a price. reportedly, the first versions of this product came with a CD containing the drivers; now the CD is not included. Windows will install HID drivers that allow the keyboard and mouse to work at a basic minimum, but none of the advanced features will work. For example, volume control, program launching keys, multimedia keys do not work at all with the HID drivers.
Waste of money10/5/2010
The USB wired receiver is huge. The range is very short. After few weeks the keyboard stopped connecting. I changed the batteries. Nothing.
Wired receiver included!5/6/2009
What the picture does not show is a USB wired receiver that you need to use. Maybe there's no other way but the pics dont show that at all. If I had known I wouldnt have bought the product. You are nott eliminaing 2 wires, just one!
I bought a set for each of my kids the weekend before Christmas. I noticed that the supplier upgraded my shipping at no additional cost (2nd day delivery) and I received them on Christmas Eve. Above and beyond.
not auto-off mode for Keyboard unlike mouse12/5/2008
The mouse goes in auto-off mode if you don't use it for 20 minutes and turns on when you press left-click, the same is not true for keyboard. My keyboard cells lasts only for few days because of this reason. The product is good otherwise and i will rate it 4.5 out of 5.
Excellent feel, excellent deal9/10/2008
The keyboard has good tactile feedback and the optical mouse is smooth. Batteries are included. Plug and play. Good price and free shipping.
Good desktop, one minor issue9/9/2008
I have always liked the Microsoft keyboards, so when may other Microsoft wireless mouse broke, I bought this for replacement. It is cheaper than most others, and the keyboard has the same crisp feel which I like. One minor difference with the mouse is that it goes to sleep after about 10 minutes of idle time, and does not wake up with a move (which I have always done with previous mice, wireless or otherwise). Therefore, for a few days I thought the mouse was malfunctioning, and each time I had to push both the connection buttons on the console and on the mouse to reconnect. I was going to return it, then by accident found that it can only be waken up with left click.
Easy To Install Keyboard & Mouse7/31/2008
I bought this wireless keyboard and mouse for my sister who is not the most technically savvy person. She had no problems following the clearly written instructions and diagram to install software and then the hardware. The keyboard and mouse came with the four AA batteries, two each for both the keyboard and the mouse. Good response time and it has adjustable mouse speed, one button access on the keyboard to my documents and the internet just to name a few keyboard short cuts. Very good value for just over $30 with free shipping.
Decent product for the price7/20/2008
Simple to install and easy to use. Only problem is quality of keyboard - the keys are a little hard and sometimes not too responsive. OK for home use.
This is a traditional-layout, no frills, wireless keyboard and mouse -- exactly what I wanted. Easy to set up; and the price was right and had free shipping so my total was ~$30 which I thought was a good value. Came with batteries for both, which was nice. Wanted a MS brand because I have been very happy with their mice in the past.
I just bought this keyboard and mouse because my old mouse broke. This combo was cheaper than my old mouse and I like it better.
