Editor's Note
Inspired by the bestselling novels of British suspense author Caroline Graham, the BBC mystery series MIDSOMER MURDERS initially debuted in 1997 and ran for many years thereafter. It unfolds in the deceptively serene-looking villages of Midsomer County, England, where Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) and his protégé, Detective Sergeant Ben Jones (Jason Hughes) proceed to solve one sinister and haunting case after another. Labeled as "Set 18," this collection actually features three feature-length mysteries from Series Twelve (2009): SMALL MERCIES, THE CREEPER and THE GREAT AND THE GOOD. Guest stars include: Jennu Agutter, Margaret Tyzack and Paul Shelley.

Of course, it stands to reason that living in tiny communities — each filled with their own, peculiar, tiny-minded individuals — would be enough to drive just about anyone to murder. And, as it stands, there are a lot of killings in this county, which keeps DCI Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) DS Ben Jones (Jason Hughes) busy. This 18th set of Midsomer Murders episodes from Acorn Media brings us three tales of mayhem which originally aired in 2009, and comprised of the latter half of the show’s twelfth series....read the full review | |
