The MM-8’s exceptional looking cabinet is constructed of rigid medium density fiberboard and finished in a furniture-grade high-gloss black, achieved via seven layers of hand-sanded polyurethane. Technology: Itty Biggie The MM-8 subwoofer, a compact 9-inch cube, has a small stance but provides clear, deep bass reproduction. It employs a powerful 1200-watt amplifier, as well as a deep-reaching 8-inch woofer and two 8-inch passive radiators with Ribbed Elliptical Surrounds, a proprietary technology that has been designed to increase excursion, eliminate distortion and raise efficiency. All three drivers feature high quality black anodized aluminum cones. Unified line and sub inputs, as well as a variable low-pass filter with bypass mode, let the MM-8 subwoofer blend with Mirage speakers, as well as other designs, using the built-in crossover or home theater receiver. A 0 to 360º phase control integrates the subwoofer with other speakers. An auto-on switch turns the MM-8 on or off automatically, based on the presence of a bass signal. And last but not least, a proprietary protection circuit allows the subwoofer to deliver clear bass at all volume levels. |
