Meanwhile, screamy inmate Lorna (Polly Bergen) and destructive pyromaniac Edna (Barbara Barrie) cope with the conditions of the ward. Some consider this a camp masterpiece, a la SHOCK CORRIDOR. Others find its less-than-contemporary treatment of mental illness insulting. Either way, it is beautifully shot by lensman Lucien Ballard (THE WILD BUNCH, THE KILLING).
