|Monster Power MP-HTS850 8-Outlet Home Theater PowerCenter(tm) with Stage 1 Clean Power(tm) v2.0 Noise Filter and Phone Protection|
It's a plug... Nice design, blue light is a little too bright. Has all the plugs you need. True test will be line surge or lightening strike. Great price!
While the verdict won't be known unless/until their is a surge or brown out, the Monster Power Center appears to work well. It is nicely labeled and I like the fact that you can run your cable line thru the power center and it is supposed to condition or filter the line, removing unwanted noise. I did not notice any difference from the APC UPS that I had been using. My only complaint is that it does not do a good job of accommodating large bricks. It is nice and compact and comes with a nice 5 year equipment protection warranty. Hard to beat the great buy.com price and service.
Great performance and the right price.8/25/2010
Hi,I received this promptly via BUY.com's common speedy free shipping. The price was excellent at $39.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate. I mounted the "Powercenter" flat against the wall with ancor bolts. It allowed me to place a TV stand within 3" from the wall. All the cords from components are ported and hidden. I have a PS2, a wall-mounted 55" LED 3D HDTV (plugged in via ported, proper extention cord), a 3d Bluray and coaxil digital cable running through this "Powercenter". Everything has been running smoothly for a month or so. It filters the coaxil signal, but I have not tried the signal without it hooked to the Powercenter, so I can't give a comparison there. However; all pictures have been crystal clear thus far. It was tested one stormy July night. The house's power jolted off and back on a second later as I was playing PS2. The TV turned back on and all was normal. The only drawback? My game was reset. :) I am very happy with it and I hope this helps. "Well met, blessings and good day!"
Without having a lightning strike I cant tell you how it performs. The unit looks nice, the blue glow is cool. I talked to Monster tech support about the device and they claim to truly guarantee attached equipment up to said amount on packaging. You cant beat the price from buy.com from a main stream retailer. If i have time, ill try plugging the TV into the wall, viewing it, and back into the surge protector and viewing it to see how much if any it cleans up the picture. overall, without getting really technical, from the research i did on surge protectors for LCD/Plasma TVs, this is probably overkill for the customer with just a TV and DVD setup. Being that it IS overkill it is still a GREAT BUY. I STRONGLY suggest this product.
Seems kind of cheap3/21/2007
Its a surge protector, so if it does what it is supposed to do I'm happy. It did feel a lot cheaper than the Monster ones I am familiar with, but that could be because it is designed to be slim and hang on the wall. Great price:)
