Customer Reviews of Mountek MT5000 CD Slot Mount - Universal Car Mount for Cell Phones, Satellite Radios & GPS Devices
Pretty kool idea for mounting this device. Cd slot, Any kind of slot on the dash will accommodate this phone dock and seems to be quite sturdy. The phone mount part could have been a little larger for the bigger phones but seems to work well with any size phone. The release button does seem to get bloked by the larger phones but overall a nice idea...
Just plain AWESOME!!9/6/2013
This mount installs in seconds and eliminates the need to reach for my phone to input information or answer calls while in my car. I now have my device within arms reach and at the perfect level when mounted in my CD slot in my 2004 Toyota Corolla. So convenient and useful. I'm so glad to get my phone back from off of the windshield and no more suction cup marks! The build quality and material used are top notch. No compromises by Mountek here. Recommending this mount to all my friends!!
Excellent cell phone mount6/28/2013
The mount is well made and holds securely to the CD slot and also holds the phone quite well. If you have a bulky case on your phone, it may be a little loose add the cushions on the side arms rely on fully grasping the full depth of the phone. This device holds my Galaxy S4 and my wife's Galaxy Note 2. Also note that the mount may damage or deform the felt dust cover in your CD slot.
Great cell phone mount12/19/2012
I am very happy with my purchase. The mount is very secure. The only warning that I would advise is to pay close attention to where your CD slot. For my car (2012 Nissan Altima), once I set the mount in place, The knob that tightens it in place is just above my volume knob....rubs against it. Not much I can do about the design of the radio. But I have the option of flipping the mount upside down to avoid this. Overall, I recommend this. But think about how it would mount to your own car.
What a great idea!11/20/2012
I had just bought a new car and there wasn't anyplace I could put a phone holder on the dash. Then I found this great product. It works perfectly in my car and doesn't block any of the controls on the dash.
Exactly what I was looking for!9/29/2012
Works great for holding my Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone so I can take better advantage of the awesome Nokia Drive app. Product was delivered super quick and is very well made and sturdy. I recommend.
HTC MY TOUCH / NISSAN TITAN1/20/2012
Pros = Fits nicely in my 2004 Nissan Titan stock CD player. I can still use all the radio and dash buttons. The mount does not leave any marks, screw holes or hurt the CD player opening. Cons = The location of the HTC My Touch usb port inhibits the lower part of the mount to be installed. My phone has to be positioned horizontal for the phone to be plugged into the charger. The arms that support the phone also touch the volume button. All in all great simplistic design and ingenius engenieering. Besides some design glitches ( my phone, mainly ), I would highly recommend this product!
Perfect Fit For My IPhone/12/2/2011
I am your typical soccer mom with a 2010 Tahoe vehicle, I'm also very anal about how things look because I despise clutter, so let me tell you - this mount ROCKS! It looks like it belongs to the dash of my SUV, I actually surprise people when I take it out, because they believed it to be a permanent fixture. It couldn't have a more firm grip on my phone even without the little thingy that is "detachable" for extra phone support. This is simply a must have product for anyone who has a Tahoe like myself! Go MOUNTEK! GO SOCCER MOMS!!!
Wow, this is too cool!12/1/2011
I do not usually post reviews for products but I had to make an exception for this CD slot mount MT5000. I have tried the suction cups, the cig lighter, the vent even the cup holder mounts and nothing compares to the clever mounting location Mountek has discoverd. Not only is my device easily reachable for once, but it's just SO SOLID when secured in the CD slot... seriously, you could probably use this mount for off road racing. Really the only down side to this product for me was the range of the viewing angle. However, I was able to increase the viewing angle by taking the device clamp off and increasing the size of the hole that the little bolt goes through to hold it together - I'm surprised they didn't see a need for increased viewing angle. None the less truely a 5 star product - thanks Mountek!
Solid Mount, Good Quality11/29/2011
I purchased this product because I was tired of the other type of cell mounts available. I had a suction cup dash mount and also tried a windshield mount - both were total fails. This mount worked perfectly and I highly recommend it. I was able to mount it in multiple grooves in my dash in addition to the CD slot, so I am able to position it perfectly out of the way while still be in perfect viewing position. Its made well and holds my iPhone super firmly. Buy it !
The Mountek CD Slot mount delivers!11/22/2011
This mount was the perfect solution for mounting my new HTC Thunderbolt! Window suction cups mounts simply don't stick and vent clips easily fall out. The build quality of the Mountek is great (not cheap plastic like the MANY others I've tried) and finally gives me quick access to my GPS while driving. Love it!!!
Not for everyday use9/29/2011
With the power cord connected, the holder interferes with the buttons. Blocks too much of the rest of the radio and holding mechanism is flimsy. However, okay for a temporary holder for quick hands free use.
Covers all controls behind and below mount.9/2/2011
I liked the concept of using the CD opening to secure my iphone which I use for an MP3 player, but the way my dash is positioned it covers the buttons behind and below the mount. The picture has the dashboard of a Honda Accord. I have an Accord and place the device only to find that the volume control and On/Off dial is behind the mount.
