Author Bio
Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
Marjorie Weinman Sharmat is the creator of picture books, easy readers, and young adult novels. She was determined to become a writer from childhood, when she began submitting articles to magazines. Sharmat is a graduate of Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine. Her first picture book, REX, was published in 1967. She is well known for her series of easy readers featuring child detective Nate the Great. Sharmat has also collaborated on several books with family members including her husband, Mitchell, and her son, Andrew.
