| Nero Wolfe and his dapper sidekick Archie Goodwin are back using their wit, inventiveness, and flair to solve the most perplexing crimes. The complete second season is now available for pre-order on DVD! His imperious "seventh of a ton" lodged firmly behind his desk, Nero Wolfe rarely leaves his Manhattan brownstone, preferring instead to spend a few hours a day attending to his beloved orchid collection or feasting on the sumptuous meals prepared by his Swiss chef. Archie Goodwin is his stalwart legman, a stylish, street-smart sleuth who uncovers the clues--as well as the bodies--that let Wolfe unravel the most confounding mysteries. Sex, lies, blackmail, and murder are just part of the job when our heroes take on a case. Faithfully adapted from the best-selling novels by Rex Stout and available on DVD for the first time, the complete second season of the critically acclaimed series, Nero Wolfe, from A&E starring Maury Chaykin (The Sweet Hereafter) and Oscar winner Timothy Hutton (Ordinary People). |

Editor's Note
Based on Rex Stout's series of detective novels, A&E's original series brings the curmudgeonly, agoraphobic private eye to life. Nero Wolfe (Maury Chaykin, BEING JULIA, A LIFE LESS ORDINARY) is not like other private eyes, preferring to remain within the confines of his New York brownstone, indulging in gourmet meals and tending to his extravagant orchid garden, rather than pounding the pavement. He makes his money--and quite a lot of it--by solving mysteries from home, making him the quintessential armchair detective; the legwork is done by his assistant, Archie Goodwin (Timothy Hutton, BEAUTIFUL GIRLS, 5IVE DAYS TO MIDNIGHT). Street-smart and charming, the dapper Archie can handle any situation but is ultimately guided by the near-omnipotence of his employer's genius. Goodwin supplies the narration of the show, with voice-over that captures the essence of the hard-boiled novels perfectly. This collection is comprised of all the episodes from season two, including "Die Like a Dog," "Poison a la Carte," "Help Wanted, Male," and "Immune to Murder."
