Very nice router with comprehensive features

by Ted on 4/2/2011

This is one of the best routers and yet probably the richest one in overall features. The setup is quite easy. I used the web based setup such as defining multiple SSIDs, security protocols, and port forwarding. Parental control, however, requires separate download from community firmware. P/C is probably the best of all, which can be define on user level based on window login. Once done, the router is ready to go without any problems. The next step was to create separate access points using the old Linksys WRT54G router. The purpose is to preserve the existing connectivities among other devices without making changes to all. It also works like a charm. The only downside is the signal strength which is not as good as I anticipated. I have a relatively sizable multiple stories house. The 2.4GH signal from this router is one bar less then my old one. However, the speed has been more than satisfactory. I would strongly recommend this router to anyone.

by rlondon on 7/11/2011

Software makes installation the easiest I've done, and I;ve done about 10 different routers. I have 3 on same network in my home, and this one is extremely fast on the 5 ghz band. Not all my components will access that (like my smartphone), but from a Macbook, it was way faster than regular wireless N from my other routers, including Apple's
