|What is NETGEAR’s RangeMax Next Wireless-N?
The RangeMax Next Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter is backward compatible with legacy 802.11b/g wireless standard products. Smart Wizard simplifies setup and Touchless WiFi Security makes connecting to secure networks simple and fast. The WN111 has a USB 2.0 interface, so it can enable your notebook or desktop computer to connect at Wireless-N speeds at the first time.
The WN111 secures enough bandwidth and range to support file sharing, MP3 downloads, Internet phone calls, network gaming and multimedia applications all simultaneously and at consistent speeds. Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE standard 802.11 specifications. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. NETGEAR makes no express or implied representations or warranties about this product’s compatibility with any future standards.
OK Product - once you get it working11/21/2010
We bought this to get wireless connectivity in an outbuilding (about 20 feet from our home.) It was kind of confusing to get it working because of the software that came with it -- guess it's too new for Windows P&P. Also, the range seemed limited -- we had to put a repeater in the outbuilding to get reliable wireless connectivity. But with the repeater it works great. Now, if someone can tell me how to stop my cordless phone from interfering with my wireless network ...
I was having trouble with a wireless network and someone suggested this type of USB adapter. I found a refurbished one and took a chance (I don't normally buy refurbished electronics). The software loaded easily and the unit works flawlessly. Highly recommended.
