This WiFi extender realy works, but setting it up can be tricky. When I use a notebook with Windows 7, it blue screened twice during configuration. I had to use a notebook with Windows XP to finish the job. Buy.com needs to improve on its shipping practice with better packing. When I got the package, the shipping box is totally smashed, and there was no packing material in the box. Thanks to the Netgear's original retail box, even though it was badly damaged, the extender inside is still OK and functional.

If you are looking for a wireless repeater that won't be plagued by constant problems and dropped connections--this is it! This unit is very easy to set-up: it features a completely wizard-driven interface that takes you though the process step-by-step, making the initial installation a snap (you don't even need the instruction manual). If you are a power user, however, the wizard will annoy you, as you can't really tweak the settings yourself. The unit is also missing advanced features, such as static DHCP, and only includes the bare necessities. Although the design is sleek, the repeater will get dusty pretty quickly (due to the plastic used, as well as due to it being black). The enclosed "foot" stand is virtually useless, as it refuses to stay clipped to the unit--you're better off without it. All in all, it's a good unit.. albeit a little pricey for what it does.
