When penniless Lily Tremaine appears on Knight Winthrops doorstep with three young children after her benefactor is murdered, the Count takes them in and finds himself overwhelmed by danger and desire. By the author of Night Fire. Reissue. *Author: Coulter, Catherine *Publication Date: 1990/12/01 *Binding Type: Paperback *Language: English *Depth: 1.00 *Width: 4.25 *Height: 6.50
From the Publisher:

"What Are You Doing?"
Lilly Asked

"I'm undressing myself. Then I'm going to undress you. Then I'm giong to make love to you, right here, under this beautiful old oak tree."

She stared at Knight. He was musing about the history of the oak forest even as he began to unbutton his shirt. He couldn't be serious. No, it was impossible. It was the middle of the day.

On the other hand, he had entered her bedchambers, had ripped open her nightgown, had touched her and kissed her and made her scream with pleasure. Oh dear, she had to do something.

"No, damn you!" Lily picked up her skirt and bounced away from him.

"Not again," Knight sighed.

Annotation:
After her fiancé is murdered, Lily Tremaine is left with his three children and no means to support them. She turns to Knight Winthrop for help, a man capable of solving all of the desperate woman's problems.
Author Bio
Catherine Coulter
Catherine Coulter graduated from Boston College with a master's degree in 19th-century European history. She first began writing romances after convincing herself that she could come up with something better than what was currently being published. While living in New York in 1978, she published her first novel with some help in plotting out the story from her physician husband. Since then she has gone on to write mostly Regency romances, many of them in the trilogy format she believes allows her to follow her character's lives more completely. Her first major best-seller, "Moonspun Magic" (1988), was the third installation in the Magic Trilogy and the first of a long string of popular best-sellers. In 1988 Coulter decided to take on the suspense thriller genre with "False Pretenses." Her subsequent suspense novels, "The Cove," "The Maze," "The Target," and "The Edge", were instant best-sellers. Coulter's hobbies include traveling, skiing, and reading.
