Author Bio
Angela Carter
Carter grew up in London in a middle-class family, and studied medieval literature at the University of Bristol. She was married in 1960 and divorced in 1972, after which she began to travel extensively, living in Japan for two years. In addition to writing novels and short stories, Carter was a journalist, a visiting professor at various universities, and a writer of children's books, plays, screenplays, and verse. Most of her works combine magic realism with violence and eroticism.
