I was looking for a simple point & shoot camera under $100 for those "grab & get that picture" moments that my larger Cannon S2 IS could just not get. I also wanted a well developed brand name. The Nikon meets everything I was looking for in a second camera & has a few feature surprises such as panorama and 1000 pictures on one battery that make it a great buy. I keep the camera in my pocket most of the time & I have gotten those pictures I used to miss. I did have to purchase a soft case for the camera to protect it in my pocket since one was not included.
Camera only good for certain events1/8/2008
This camera offers some value for the price but it only good for still pictures and for shots within 20 feet. The zoom feature is like any other digital camera...not very clear and the closer you zoom the shakier the picture in the viewfinder becomes. The flash is only good for within 20 feet, more or less. The low light pictures seem to come out kind of yellowish. I always have the camera on "easy auto focus", in other words the "idiot" setting. The number of pics for the batteries given are as advertised. I've taken alot of shots with flash and I'm still on the original batteries.
