HDR not as good as my iphone3/20/2015
Good camera, but its HDR function is not nearly as good as my iphone 4s: the bright is too bright.
The Nikon camera is the best I have ever bought.
As Expected, No Problems.
I just got it yesterday and I can NOT put it down.
My wife and I were recently shopping around for a good quality camera. We had looked at several box stores and finally went online to buy.com after searching for awhile we found the exact same camera at the "box" stores, but only MUCH less expensive, we anxiously awaited and when it arrived we were ecstatic at the overall quality, performance and clarity of this camera. Definetely would recommend to anyone!!!
this is an excellent camera, only thing I missed was the detail that it does not come with a memory card. At the price, it would have been smart for the seller to include a memory card
great intermediate camera6/6/2012
Great camera if you want the features of a DSLR but not the weight
Very short acquaintance with this unit, however it seems to function well. Professional reviews dissing the utility of the long lens/autofocus may be on the mark, but in the world of reality, using a 1000mm lens (equivalent) will require a tripod regardless of what camera you're using, and I went into the purchase knowing that (I have a tripod). Downloading the owner manual before the camera arrived gave me a leg up, and despite the number of controls and menus, operation is intuitive.
Could be better, but not much.4/10/2012
This camera takes quality pictures at high resolution. It is a very good compromise between point-and-shoots and digital SLRs. I am very happy with the product, too many good things to list, so I'll only concentrate the things I wish could have been better. When zooming - even during manual focus - there is a loss of focus for an instant. Not a problem on stills, but a killer for video. I also wish there were an input for an external mic... the on-camera mics pickup motor noise on video zooms.
