|The smallest Nokia Bluetooth headset to date, the Nokia BH-804 combines cutting-edge technology with genuine aluminum case, slim lines and a compact size making it a stylish accessory to any mobile device. It even received honorary mention in the Finnish Fennia Prize design competition, which rewards the exemplary use and application of design in business. Boasting superior audio quality and the latest audio features, including digital signal processing (DSP) for background noise cancellation, the BH-804 lets you enjoy crisp, clear conversations while on the go. This headset offers up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 6.25 days of standby time.
The Nokia BH-804 Bluetooth headset comes with an earloop for secure wearing and a handy desk-top charger (see schematic image for a view of all the controls).
The BH-804 has two user-friendly buttons for easy management of basic call functions and volume level. It can be charged while on the go via a microUSB connection, and it also comes with a desk-top charger and neck strap for convenient charging, storage and carrying. It's compatible with mobile phones and other devices that support Bluetooth headset profiles.
Very VERY disappointed12/30/2009
I had high hopes for this, as I've had Nokia BTHS before and was generally satisfied. This, on the other hand, disappoints on all fronts. Despite its slight weight advantage, it refuses to stay put in the ears of any members of this household -- with or without the ear hook. (I tried to get Nokia to send me a set of ear adapters from the BH216 that has the same earpiece but the adapters have the loop on them to anchor them to your ear, but they couldn't be bothered with customer satisfaction, apparently.) That's bad enough, but the worst defect is its very low audio output level -- you can't hear much of anything from it in any but the quietest environments. The charging procedure is fussy too, involving the use of extraneous small parts, like a charging base or a charging receptacle. Other Nokia BTHS you simply plug the charger into the headset and you're done. Very easy, nothing to lose or misplace. We all have found the controls difficult to use, especially the tiny and thin rocker switch that controls the volume. Even after dealing with that out of the ear and getting level confirmation on the phone display, the maximum output level was still barely audible. If I could give this 0 stars I would, given its miserable performance, nonexistent customer support from its manufacturer, and very high price.
Great little earpiece11/29/2009
I don't think you can go wrong with this Nokia Bluetooth earpiece. I bought it only after much research and review and have not been disappointed. The high points are: - Great build quality (aluminum body is a big plus) - very good sound quality - lightweight (fits in my ear comfortably and snugly without the ear hook) - Ear hook is completely removable - docking station makes charging easy - neck strap comes in very handy. As with a previous Nokia headset the Bluetooth acquisition is quick and automatic. When my phone rings I can turn the headset on, it automatically connects to my Nokia phone and I can then answer it with the headset button, all before the call goes to voice mail. That means I can leave the headset off to save battery life and don't have to unholster the phone to answer it. I think this unit was worth it at the $69 price but with the Nokia $25 rebate (through 12/31/09), it is a steal.
