Could a Mummy Found in Niagara Falls be the Remains of a Long-Lost Pharaoh?
It is a tantalizing idea: could a shriveled mummy that has lain neglected on a dusty shelf in a museum at Niagara Falls be none other than the remnants of a long-lost Egyptian pharaoh A trail of clues hints at how the looted mummy may have made its way to North America a century and a half ago. A team of archeologists from Emory University attempts to confirm its identity with the help of the latest imaging and DNA techniques. They find compelling evidence that the mummy may indeed be that of Rameses I founder of ancient Egypt s most illustrious dynasty. At the climax of the show, the mummy is handed back to Egyptian authorities to take pride of place alongside its royal relatives in the Cairo Museum -- a fitting climax to a bizarre, 3,000 year-old detective story.System Requirements:Run Time: 60 minutesFormat: DVD MOVIE

Editor's Note
Did a long lost Egyptian king ever visit Niagara Falls? No, but his mummified remains may have. This is the story of a discovery that may either be earth shattering, or simply hype. PBS's legendary NOVA goes down a twisted road of archaeologists, museum curators, and even a thief or two in their attempt to uncover an ancient secret as big as the pyramids.

DVD Town 9 of 10
In a way, this show combines the forensic focus of "CSI" with archaeological history, though with a much more matter-of-fact tone. There's none of the sensationalist fanfare that often accompanies these television mysteries...If you're interested in Egyptology, "The Mummy Who Would Be King" is a spellbinding 3000-year-old mystery that's convincingly solved in 56 minutes, with no sense of flim-flam speculation and no hokey dramatizations. All the footage is authentic, and while the show is entertaining, education is its main purpose - and that goal is admirably realized. - James Plath
