|Welcome Back to the 15th Precinct.
| One of the most acclaimed and beloved dramas in television history, NYPD Blue has finally signed off from network TV. Relive all the passion, brotherhood, joy, and heartbreak of the 15th precinct as NYPD Blue is immortalized on DVD with Season 3. In this season Dennis Franz won his second of 4 Emmys for Best Actor in a Drama for NYPD Blue; Franz character, Det. Andy Sipowicz, experiences the highs of falling in love and the lows of experiencing the loss of his son Andy Jr. to a violent murder. |
"...every episode is solid, each character has an engaging story arc...it's the benchmark for cop drama, hands down. Daniel MacDonald, DVD Verdict
"...Franz's ornery, bigoted, alcoholic Andy Sipowicz remains one of prime time's most compelling characters... Entertainment Weekly
"...a must-have for ANY fan of "NYPD Blue", or cop shows in general. Ron J. Epstein, DVD Talk
"...one of the best shows on television, earning a slew of Emmy's and critical praise for its acting, writing, and take-no-prisoners dialog. Susan Glen, PopMatters

Editor's Note
Before it even appeared on the airwaves, NYPD BLUE was television's most controversial show in 1993. The show broke new ground and, like its characters Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) and Detective John Kelly (David Caruso), it didn't play by the rules. Weaving nudity and foul language into storylines that tackled issues such as vigilante violence, homosexuality, and prostitution, the cop series became a huge hit with an audience who craved reality. In Season 3, Detective Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) loses his son in a tragic murder, and falls in love as well. Episodes include "Heavin' Can Wait," "Aging Bull," and "The Nutty Confessor."
