|Based on a cutting-edge new architecture, Vertex 2 Solid State Drives raise the bar once again and deliver unprecedented performance for the complete gamut of gaming and professional multimedia applications. OCZ designed the Vertex 2 to surpass the competition where it counts most, pushing the limits in both sequential and random read/write rates. With spectacular performance in 4k file writes up to 50,000 IOPS, these latest drives take productivity to the next level with over ten times the performance of the previous generation. Using the latest controller technology, Vertex 2 not only provides a faster, more responsive PC experience, but promotes cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives.
With sheer performance that outpaces the competition, the Vertex 2 doesn’t lose sight of what makes an SSD the ideal storage alternative to hard drives and delivers the quality, reliability, and durability demanded by consumers that will not settle for anything but the best. Built with SATA 3Gb/s, the Vertex 2 Series easily integrates into today’s mobile and desktop platforms and features TRIM support to optimize performance over the drive’s lifespan as the ultimate Windows 7 notebook or desktop upgrade.

So Fast... until it died... less than 24 hours3/2/2011
This drive was screaming fast in my laptop I use for work. I used it for about 2 hours, then I enabled Win7 bitlocker and used it for another 6 hours after that. Everything was going fine, I rebooted a few time to show my friends how fast it was. Then I put the laptop into standby, came back a few hours later and that was it. Green light turns on, but I got nothing!
Drive Died after 24 hours of use2/27/2011
I bought 2 of these drives and both drives died the very next day. Buy.com replaced the first drive and sent a replacement and again after 1 day of use the drive was no longer detected in the bios or in any computer I put it in. Shame on OCZ for such poor quality products.
I just got one of these drives because of the SF-1222 controller and awesome advertised speed. What i got was not what i ordered. I got one of the newer models with the 25nm crap. Needless to say, after hours of researching why my drive seemed slow i discovered this dirty trick that OCZ is pulling. 170 read and 59 write! That is not what i paid for!!!!! So far this has been a BAD experience with my first SSD!
