Very compact full-auto, point and shoot camera with a great 12.5x optical zoom and stabilization. I took 190 pictures at a graduation and the battery meter was still at 3/4 full when I was finished. Has auto-tracking for active subjects such as moving pets, and a full range of preset scenes for exposure compensation and white balance settings. My biggest complaint is no viewfinder, which would be a help on bright sunny days, but after all it's not an SLR and I'd hate to give up the small size and light weight which fits easily into a shirt pocket. Also, even with ISO set manually at 1600 (the maximum), performance indoors in large auditoriums/arenas without flash is only marginal and shutter speeds are automatically set very slow, can't be manually changed. Flash is located near shutter release on right side of camera right under your finger, you have to take care not to cover it. Shutter lag time is typical for the breed. On the plus side, with flash or with sufficient natural light the photos are razor-sharp, in auto mode the camera does facial recognition/autofocus. Set for 14 megapixels and in fine mode, each picture is about 6 MB which gives great enlargement detail. With an 8 GB SD card you can take and store over 950 pictures of this size.
