Annotation:
Cutting down on cab fares, Candace Bushnell--author of the wildly popular books SEX IN THE CITY and LIPSTICK JUNGLE--arranges accommodations for all her characters in the same building this time because, according to one of the glamorously wealthy residents of the eponymous residence, "[E]ven in Los Angeles, everyone knew the value of a pied-à-terre in Manhattan." The well-heeled artists (and one banker) well-connected enough to secure a spot at One Fifth Avenue have many of the same preoccupations as Bushnell's earlier characters--sex and success. Lucky for Carrie Bradshaw fans, Bushnell's style, wit, high society insider info, and flair for accessorizing haven't changed either.

Praise
"What's compelling about ONE FIFTH AVENUE is that Bushnell offers plenty of what we want in a breezy read but also goes deeper, exploring what happens when the desire for the best in life doesn't add up but you can't stop pursuing it anyway."
