Voted the best British sitcom of all time in a 2004 audience poll, Only Fools and Horses entered its sixth season with a number of changes -- a longer episode length, romance for Rodney and a new look for Del, who has recast himself wholeheartedly in the image of Gordon Gekko from the film Wall Street. Despite Rodney's move toward practicality in signing up for computer training, Trotter's Independent Traders (TIT for short) are still as active as ever in their hilarious pursuit of any scheme that might bring that elusive million to the brothers Trotter.
Editor's Note
When ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES began in 1981, actors David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst can have had little idea of the show's longevity. In 2004 ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES was voted Best British Sitcom of all time by British viewers, while Lyndhurst and Jason have become household names as Rodney and Derek "Del Boy" Trotter. By the time the sixth series aired, changes were afoot. With the show finding its niche, the runtimes of the episodes increased, and Buster Merryfield fully established himself in the character of Uncle Albert. Albert was ushered into the narrative as a replacement for the Trotter's grandfather, who shuffled off-screen in 1984 when the actor who played him, Lennard Pearce, sadly passed away.

Fans of the show will be delighted to discover that the Trotter brothers are still embroiled in all manner of get-rich-quick schemes in the sixth series. There's also some romantic interest for Rodney, and further displays of sartorial tastelessness from Del. A delightful British comedy that becomes addictive once hooked, ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES helps carry on a long-standing trend of superior comedy offerings from the UK.
