Ignore old reviews6/7/2012
I was hesitant to buy this based on some old reviews about netflix not streaming, but after I bought it and did the automatic update to latest firmware, it has run perfectly. I didn't try prior to updating the firmware, so can't comment if it would have worked, but given the update is automatic via wifi, it was so easy to do. Netflix is so smooth and fast, no buffer problems or glitches. I love this player and would highly recommend it. I am using a "g" router with Verizon Fios as provider (manual says that "n" router would be best, but no probs with my g)
Great product at a good price. Love the picture quality on the 3D and Netflix is so perfect. Will recommend to family & friends.
I like it4/16/2012
Had no problem playing DVD, DVD-RW or music CDs. No sticking, no error messages so far. Have not tried DVD-R or picture CDs yet. Did not use the progressive scan mode, as the TV we are using it with is not equipt for that. I would definitely recommend this to others if you are looking for a simple DVD player at a low price
As others mentioned, very easy setup and connected to my wifi within minutes of taking it out of the box. Netflix works seamlessly so far, not freezing up once. The picture is simply amazing compared to our old DVD player. I would have expected to pay a lot more for this unit, so I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone.
Like the features2/14/2012
This is the first blu-ray player we bought since we just bought a 3D TV. We are using it on our current TV that has image issue and the image is still come out good. Can't wait to try it on the new 3D TV when it arrives. We like the motion sensor to open and close the tray even though we know it is a gimmick. We have a older DVD player from Panasonic and it is still working wonderfully. So I hope this 3D Blu Ray player has better image than our regular Panasonic player1
If you're looking for a great 3D bluray player that works great out of the box and won't break the bank then this is the player for you. The picture quality is amazing and the online content is quite extensive. It's very convenient to have wifi on this unit and I find the range to be good on it. Free avatar 3D is a bonus.
Panasonic Blu Ray Player1/11/2012
The unit has done spectacularly! The "free" movie "Avatar" requires a lot to get. Since I already own it, won't bother. The player handles DLNA and networking very well indeed.
Great player, excellent value1/2/2012
Drop dead gorgeous picture quality especially on 3D BD discs. Flawless performance. Great network features such as Netflix and Amazon Video On Demand. A wave of the hand opens and closes the disc tray (this can be annoying but is easily disabled in the settings menu). Great job playing video directly out of Lumix cameras via SD card slot.
Great player - Great Value12/16/2011
After our Roku bit the dust, we decided to try this integrated Blu Ray WiFi player.
Stay away from this player11/24/2011
I tried two of these and had to return them both. After many conversations with Panasonic techs it was decided that this unit will not play mkv videos from my server or from the usb drive. It recognized jpg and mp3 from the same sources but not the mkv videos. An older Panasonic BD-75 plays them perfect. Went with a Samsung BD-D5700 and it plays everything I have.
Sleek Unit - Great Picture Quality9/21/2011
This Blu-Ray player is awesome. The picture quality is beautiful. Every movie I have played makes me feel like I am a part of the action. I love the menu screen as it is very user-friendly with a nice design. The no-touch "Open" area on top of the unit is convenient and a nice perk. I highly recommend this Blu-Ray player as it is great quality for a decent price.
Forget the rest-- This is the Best !9/9/2011
I must admit I love this player. This is my 2ndrd blu ray player and my favorite. Iaround it for wifi content I have yet to see my Panasonic bdt210 have any difficulty when streaming content on wireless. Lightning speed, can stop, fast forward, rewind without issue and resume play. Additionally, I can search for movies and play them or add them to my list and rate movies on screen with ease The movie icons on Netflix are much large on the Panasonic 210 The Panasonic 210 runs through the menus smoothly. I would rate my personal Netflix wifi experience with this player as excellent. The picture quality is also amazingly detailed and accurate. The picture does not seem over enhanced even when applying some of the picture enhancing features. Excellent machine and for what its worth, I recommend it. I knew I did not need the higher end model in the 3 model series and build in wifi option is the way to go so I took the middle road model and have no regrets It also comes with a coupon for a free copy of Avatar on Blu ray for purchasing the player. Exceptional value for your dollar, The "load times" it takes to reach the main menu of a BD.is super fast. This player is great for those who are impatient. I really cannot say enough good about it, looks great and the no-touch eject fis very cool. Upconverting SD DVDs also work great.
BIG PICTURE. SMALL UNIT9/9/2011
Tihs is my second Panasonic Blu Ray player. I had the DMP-BD35 which I thought was nice (but slow). But this player has them all beat. What beautiful picture and sound it has. Plus it is amazingly fast comapred to most other Blu Ray players. It's much smaller than the DMP-BD35, But dont let its small size fool you. The picture is outstanding. There are so many options for those who like to tweak the picture and sound. Even though the picture is fine without using any picture enhancement controls. I connected to the internet with a simple touch of the Belkin routers WPS button .It upconverts standard DVDs nearly perfectly. They look nearly as good as blu ray.My only negative is the on the BD-35 there were several surround sound options. The BD-210 has only NIGHT Surround. It repalaces the surround sound options with something called Digital Tube sound. It makes the sound appear a bit warmer. The manual could have been better. The item came carefully packaged and was delivered quickly. Now I am totally hooked on blu ray and find it difficult to watch anything else.
TO -The person who said this doesn't play "home made" DVDs.. Hes totally wrong. I have dozens of 'home madede" DVDs (SD & HD) They all play well. Also to the comment that it plays only Region ONE DVDs. Of course it does. All BLU RAY players do. Unless it's puchased as a MODIFIED player. Other than that ,this unit has the best Video Quality of any BLU RAY player in this price range. I have tired all the brands..none come close to this in all aspects.
Excellent DVD/ Internet player6/25/2011
Great Quality product. Works great for me. NetFlix is excelent and so are other services.
Plays no other DVDs6/15/2011
If you play regular DVDs - quality is superb. But home made DVDs, which play OK on other DVD players - do not play. It plays neither DVDs brought from South America, or locally bought other European countries' movies and cartoons, even in NTSC. What a shame... Perfect for zone 1 DVDs only. So, do not remove your old 'play-all' player from the setup. The hand-wand tray opener feature is awesome but that means that the Player should be always on the top of the rack and accessible in tight spaces. I was waiting for this player since I saw it at the last CES in Las Vegas last January, and paid almost $200 in March.
