| From award-winning filmmaker Nina Davenport (Always a Bridesmaid) comes an acclaimed film festival favorite and BBC Storyville hit--PARALLEL LINES. Hailed as "funny, unabashedly entertaining, and personal" (IndieWIRE), this charmingly candid journey across the United States is a road movie with an emotionally engaging twist. On September 11th, 2001, Davenport was in California, far from New York where her apartment overlooked the World Trade Center. Driving along back roads alone--armed only with her camera--Davenport eloquently investigates the intersection between loss and national tragedy. She meets strangers who quickly become friends, revealing their most intimate and personal feelings about topics as diverse as love, nature, and war. Soon, the parallel lines in the asphalt begin to reflect the enduring themes along the highway of life--a road paved with sadness, humor, and genuine surprise.
