Customer Reviews of Pawhut Deluxe Portable Backyard Chicken Coop w/ Fenced Run and Wheels
Huge Waste of Money4/6/2014
The coop is too small for 4-6 chickens except in China where it was made. The wood was chipped, cracked & poor quality. Instructions are difficult. I ended up with a spare part that was not referenced in the instructions..
Good product for price2/17/2014
Arrived in good shape, vague instructions but went together pretty easily, with only me putting it together and a hand screw driver took about 2-3 hours, pretty coop, not the sturdiest but should keep the raccoons out with a few extra locks. Good it can be moved around not a lot of room but good product for the price!
Great little unit that has lots of features8/24/2013
This unit comes with horrible instructions but it goes together really easy. Took me about 2 hours solo. Just make sure you look at all the pictures because their is no writing. Has a bunch of features and ways to access the inside. There is no way I could have built something like this in the amount of time that it took. We are very happy with this purchase. Careful with the ramp. As in other posts I busted it off when moving. It screws back on without issue.
Good coop for a decent price7/7/2013
My boyfriend and I had this together in about an hour or an hour and a half. If you label the screws and bolts(each have a different number or are obviously used in one spot ) it helps speed things up. We have painted it to keep it protected from the rain we get here in Portland. I have already busted the ramp off the coop when I went to move the coop. Easy fix... any one have any idea what part "z" goes to? We laughed and said its a joke the company is playing on us.
We love this coop7/6/2013
I don't care about the bad directions, it is a great coop. I looked around a lot and it only takes me seconds to get eggs out of the nesting boxes and cleaning the whole thing with the removable tray feature takes less than 5 minutes a week - a BIG difference in the heat/smells of summer. We stapled heavier wire fencing around the outside and built a wire skirt to stop raccoons, we live quite remotely and the girls have been safe for over 6 months with these changes. Great coop.
Great little coop4/15/2013
I purchased this coop after much online research and reading of reviews. In spite of some negative reviews, I went with this one and I am completely satisfied. It did take about a week to receive but it arrived in perfect condition and was relatively easy to assembly with 2 people working on it. Took us about an hour and a half. I will agree with others on the point that the directions are all but useless and generally a hindrance when it comes to assembly but we were able to figure it out. The wood is not heavy but, once assembled, the coop feels plenty sturdy. We had no issues with holes not lining up - everything went together perfectly and the doors all open and shut with ease. It is small but was pretty much exactly what I expected and what I need for my 3 chicks. I was worried about how the coop would hold up in the wind and weather here (Denver area) but it has already survived one major wind and rainstorm (it did leak just a tiny bit at the hinge of the lid on the nesting box but that was easily remedied with a piece of duct tape) and is currently surviving a snowstorm. The 3 chicks are happy and content inside with their heat lamp and seem to be faring just fine! A good purchase in my mind - I highly recommend it!
The chicken coop looks good, took us 4 hours to put it together because the parts where not marked when the instructions had letter on it. Also the instructions were only a copied page in black and white very difficult to read and understand. The images were impossible also. One door had a broken lock, now I will have to go to the hardware store and install it myself because it doesnt make sence to send it back after all that work, I will highly recommend to use better instructions.
Difficult to put together; but pretty2/16/2013
This coop came with very poor pictures in the instructions. It was very difficult to make edges line up and holes lines up. But once it was together it was very cute and suits my hens very nicely. It is a bit difficult to use because the edges don't line up, so the door has difficulty shutting and the latches aren't lined up well either and have to be forced shut with two people pushing.
