This extremely flexible high-performance router offers many configuration options, with single or dual leased line speeds up to 2.048Mbps. Modular LAN and WAN interfaces allow the user to change the configuration of the P1705 to meet evolving network requirements.
The Perle P1705 is optimized for high-end bandwidth applications requiring single or dual WAN access with Frame Relay and PPP. When the router is configured for Frame Relay it supports 40 DLCI's (Data-Link Connection Identifiers) for simultaneous connectivity to 40 remote sites, each one with the capability to run 6:1 data compression. Advanced congestion control to eliminate the impact of packet loss and automatic learning of DLCI numbers and LMI type ensure easy installation at any site.
Each P1705 can be configured to support a point-to-point or multi-point connection. In point-to-point mode the standard backup link can be configured for either disaster recovery or operate in loadshare mode for bandwidth on demand, or provide the site with an ISDN connection to the Internet.
