This performance from Berlin in 1989 features the Master of the Keyboard backed by the equally legendary bassist Niels-Henning Oersted Pedersen and drummer Martin Drew. Oscar Peterson was a star in Canada, his homeland, before Norman Granz brought him to this country in 1949 for a surprise debut at Carnegie Hall. First, a perennial mainstay of Jazz at the Philharmonic, the charismatic Oscar Peterson soon enjoyed universal popularity. This DVD is a prime example of how he delighted the audiences of five continents in the framework of his superb trios.

Includes live performances of Salute to Bach, Who Can I Turn To?, Blues Etude, Yours is My Heart Alone, Falling in Love With La Belle Province, Nigerian Marketplace, Cakewalk, Skylark - My Foolish Heart, Perdido, and Caravan.

Editor's Note
Jazz pianist Oscar Peterson leads a trio in this 1989 concert. His talent has taken him far beyond his native Canada, bringing him fame across the globe. Joined by Niels-Henning Oersted Pedersen on bass and Martin Drew on drums, Peterson plays a selection of favorites, including "Salute to Bach," "Cakewalk," and Duke Ellington's "Perdido."
