"...shamelessly entertaining B movie bottom feeding.  Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

Editor's Note
HAUTE TENSION and HILLS HAVE EYES director Alexandre Aja pays homage to the films that made him fall in love with the horror genre by helming this comedic remake of director Joe Dante's 1978 JAWS parody. Lake Victoria may look peaceful, but beneath the placid waters of this painterly lake lurks a deadly menace. A powerful underwater tremor has released scores of man-eating prehistoric fish into the waters, and now it's up to a group of unlikely heroes to band together and defeat the razor-toothed predators. With time running out and the aquatic carnivores taking over, one brave heroine (Elisabeth Shue) will risk everything to save the lake and prevent her family from becoming fish food. Richard Dreyfuss, Ving Rhames, Jerry O'Connell, and Adam Scott star in the Dimension Films production.

Expert Review Piranha - DVD Review
By: Confessions of an Overworked Mom Reviews

Piranha is available from Sony Entertainment on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD. The plot is predictable. College spring break means buxom blonds with barely concealed bodies bumping and grinding on the beaches of sleepy Lake Victoria. It means lots of drinking, wet t-shirt contests, obnoxious drunk guys and of course piranhas who have been released by an underwater earthquake into Lake the full review

Piranha 3-D is a loving hark back to an eighties vibe of horror film-making, mixing the gore drenched splatter features of that era with an extra added Porky's vibe to it. Interestingly with all the gratuitous female features on display, Aja's film still manages to make the characters we're meant to be watching likable enough to forget about the boobs (depending on who you are). A fun, disposable flick with enough gore and laughs for genre fans, Piranha isn't going to make massive waves in the great horror circle, but manages to be a nice nibble for it's 88 minutes. - Byron Pitt 6 of 10
The flick primarily follows the local Sheriff played by Elizabeth Shue who is investigating the strange events that are happening in the lake. While this is happening her son goes on a boat with Kelly Brook and Jerry O,Connell to shoot a porn movie, and? well you can kind of figure out what else happens. This is a good beer drinking flick for those of us that don?t really want to watch a movie that requires a lot of thought. The humor is more parody of spring break that turns into a Bloodbath. I liked that actually. If you are looking for that sort of thing you will enjoy this. - Casey C. Corpier
