Successful psychotherapist Jane Lewis wanted to be like homecoming queen Connie Bryan back in college. However, she was just a plain Jane. Today she is lovely and confident--and has never forgotten Michael Sorenson, the boy she'd admired from afar. Now, he's inspiring Jane to hope for a future together. But she is haunted by the brutal, unresolved attack that ended Connie Bryan's life.
From the Publisher:
Unable to forget the brutal attack that ended a former classmate's life, Dr. Jane Lewis, a successful psychotherapist, is suddenly presented with clues to solve the murder while embarking on a new romance with Michael Sorenson. Reprint.
Jane Lewis is a psychiatrist with a thriving practice in Rayne, Louisiana. But one day a new patient walks into her office who, Jane suspects, may be one of the perpetrators of a terrible gang rape that she and a friend endured 12 years earlier--and that drove her friend to commit suicide. Now, in addition to possible present danger, Jane must confront memories of the past, when she was an overweight, insecure college student with a terrible secret.
Author Bio
Fern Michaels
Fern Michaels grew up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, got married, and had five children before she picked up a pen to begin writing what would turn out be one best-selling romance after another. One of the most consistent bestselling romance writers of the '80s and '90s, Michaels writes mostly steamy historical romances with heavy doses of passion, seduction, and torrid adultery. Divorced from her first husband, she dedicates much of her time to philanthropic concerns, having set up the Fern Michaels Foundation, which grants scholarships to students in need. She also set up affordable pre-school and day-care centers for struggling single mothers.
