Something Strange Is Coming To Their Planet...Us!
American astronaut capt chuck baker lands on planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders - like chuck!

"...Planet 51 is a jolly and good-looking animated feature...  Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Imagine ET reversed and restaged in that newfangled family film mandate, CGI, and you've got some idea of what to expect with Planet 51. Is it as good as Spielberg's exquisite suburban sci-fi fable? No way. Does it offer a better than average action adventure featuring interesting animation and characters you will care about. Well…Sadly, it seems that the three first time filmmakers in charge of this project -- Marcos Martinez, Javier Abad, and Jorge Blanco -- have studied exclusively at the Shark Tale/Shrek school of cartoon the full review

Box Office
3 stars out of 5 -- "Fans of Googie architecture of the 1950s and '60s will appreciate the way the movie pays homage to it in the planet's buildings, which are at once retro and futuristic." 11/20/2009

Entertainment Weekly 7 of 10
It takes only one look at the rigid, rubbery aliens in this sci-fi spoof to know that we aren't dealing with topflight computer animation here. But Planet 51 still delivers a few pleasant surprises, including a smart story -- a reverse-E.T. riff that plops an American astronaut down in a world of just-like-us-only-green creatures -- and clever characters, like a lovable NASA rover with canine programming. He's no WALL-E, but you'd have to be an alien yourself not to smile when he starts wagging his antenna like a robot beagle. - Adam Markovitz
